Tuesday 15th November, 2011 – Georgetown, Guyana. Digicel today announced that it has launched integrated carrier billing with BlackBerry App World making it the first to provide this service in Guyana.
Digicel customers will now be able to charge their app purchases from BlackBerry App World™ directly to their Digicel monthly phone bill or pay instantly using their Digicel prepaid credit.
BlackBerry App World™ is the official app store for BlackBerry smartphones and is designed to allow customers to easily discover and download applications.
According to Digicel Head of Sales, Nalini Vieira, “Digicel is delighted to provide such a simple and secure method for customers to purchase applications they desire from BlackBerry App World™. Some applications on app world are free while others are sold so getting any app will be much easier with this new option.”
“Once customers go to the desired app, they will be required to select payment method. You must then choose carrier and select Digicel,” Vieira concluded.
BlackBerry users can purchase applications to suit their needs and interests from a number of categories including business, education, entertainment, finance, shopping, news, weather, music and audio and health and wellness.
BlackBerry users are encouraged to download the latest version of App World (3.0) by using the link www.blackberry.com/appworld since some persons have encountered difficulties accessing App World with the older versions.
